Orthoceras ("straight horn") is a genus of extinct nautiloid cephalopod. This genus is sometimes called Orthoceratites. Orthoceras can be found in sizes ranging from less than a centimetre to more than 14 feet long. Orthoceras is the ancestor of Ammonites and squids.
Orthoceras, otherwise known as "straight horn" is a genus of extinct nautiloid cephalopod. Orthoceras fossils occur in any marine rock, especially in limestone.
